First Senior Portrait Session for the Class of 2019

High School Senior Julia Class of 2019

I could not have asked for a nicer person to be the first Senior I photographed for the class of 2019.  Julia is a musician, artist and an honor roll student.  We started out at the studio with Julia's favorite top and then moved on to a t-shirt.  One of my goals is to capture the true nature of the Senior I am photographing.  This is done through expressions, what they are wearing and posing.  As you can see in the pictures below studio lighting can be both dramatic and glamourus.  These can only be done in the studio, this type of light doesn't occur naturally.

I was very exicted that Julia agreed to bring in her french horn.  She comes from a musical family and I wanted to create a special portrait with her horn.  French horn is naturally a beautiful instrument, with its curves and circles.  Finally I thought making this a black and white would give it a classic look.

After we finished our studio time we went on location.  Julia chose one of her favorite places on the beach, Narragansett point.  One of the great features about the point is you can include the ocean, the land and great water reflections.  As you can see it was a little windy while we were there, but this didn't stop us for getting these beautiful pictures.
