Bob Akers and why I do what I do

I was raised on my grandfathers farm in Falmouth, Maine.  Growing up with an appreciation for beautiful landscapes has served me well as I built a business photographing Families and High School Seniors.  I believe that everyone is beautiful and my job is to bring out that beauty and personality when I photograph them.

I relate well to the younger generation. Through the experience of coaching youth sports, I have learned that they all have talent and with good guidance and a belief in them selves they will grow and shine.  Both my daughters amaze me with their talents.

So what better time to create a portfolio of who they are than their Senior year of High School.  It is a milestone of life, a point where they will beginning their lives as adults with the whole world ahead of them.  Up to this point they have become strong, talented and educated and all of these qualities will be put to use as the move forward.  My goal is to capture the strength and beauty of each senior, to show their unique personality and expressions.

So why do I do this?  Because there is nothing more fulfilling to me the seeing parents and students faces when they first see the pictures that have been created just for them.  For that hour I get to be Santa Claus and all the work has been worth it.  Life is good!!!
